Another gorgeous day has come and gone at Saddlebrook Resort at the DSU Elite QB Academy. Day two saw the return of the humidity, but it also brought out a new determination from the quarterbacks to get better.

The Elite QB Academy at Saddlebrook Resort has officially begun! Nearly 25 quarterbacks from around the country have gathered down here in sunny Tampa for a week of training and developing with legendary quarterback coach Joe Dickinson, with the help from coach Joe McCulley.

Being a heavily recruited quarterback can have its definite advantages – being the face of the school, receiving plenty of attention from classmates, and even getting interviewed by DeBartolo Sports University. From the outside looking in it looks like a pretty good gig. However, once the summer before your senior season hits, the fun and enjoyment is pretty much over and it gets straight to business. Tarpon Springs senior-to-be quarterback Louie Pappas was Pinellas County’s leading passer during the 2010 season. He threw for over 2,000 yards and his top two wide receivers, Renaldo Wright and Kenyatta Merriex, led the county in receiving.
